FOR SALE - NEW ORLEANS CREOLE JAZZ, hot pink

Flawless!  Stiff silk, original folds.  $299 including Paypal fees, domestic priority shipping

RUST COLORED SCARVES

My sole jacquard is Francoise Faconnet's 1996 musical themed Orgauphone et Autres Mecaniques (Organs and Other Machines).

Fleurs d'Opera reminds me of my opera-loving mother.  This Julia Abadie design came out in 1989 but somehow I found it at Neiman Marcus in 2007.  The contrasting hem really makes it pop.

OK it's not rust, but it IS orange!  The special edition of Robert Dallet's Les Mustangs commemorated the Dallas boutique redesign in 2005.  Wonder what the 2015 redesign commemorative scarf will be???

FOR SALE - GIVERNY PM MOUSSELINE

Flawless.  2007 edition of Toutsy's 1989 design.  Original folds.  Never worn.  Pastel blue, green, pink, yellow, white.  Hermes no longer produces PM mousselines.

$299 includes Paypal fees, domestic priority shipping.

FOR SALE - TOUT EN CARRE, blue

Bali Barret's 2006 Tout en Carre takes the classic caleche design and fills it with Etriers, Eperon d'Or, and Couvertures.

A couple of makeup smudgs in the horse.  $249 includes Paypal fees, domestic priority shipping.

FOR SALE - TOUT EN CARRE, black

Bali Barret's 2006 Tout en Carre takes the classic caleche design and fills it with Etriers, Eperon d'Or, and Couvertures.

A little makeup smudge is in the carriage.  $249 includes Paypal fees, domestic priority shipping.

FOR SALE - NEW ORLEANS CREOLE JAZZ, grey

$299 including Paypal fees, domestic priority shipping

MAXI TWILLY

Always seeking new ways to play with scarves, Hermes introduced the Maxi Twilly in 2014.  (It doesn't hurt that the price point is about 25% less than a carre, which has risen 30%+ since I started collecting 10 years ago.) These two-sided, extra wide and long stoles are thinner than silk twill and are much more comfortable in the summer.  They come in several designs, but I favor the Brides de Gala classic from Hugo Grygkar.

PM CASHMERES

Once upon a time, Hermes made PM cashmeres with a rolled hem.  I'm not keen on the new fringed hems so most of these are older patterns.

Lujo Criollo (Creole Luxury) was created by Hubert de Watrigant in 2005, and only came out in cashmere.  It was reissued in GM six years later, and while I adore this design the GM colors didn't do me any favors.

Citrouilles et Coloquintes (Pumpkins and Squashes) is a 1998 Valerie Dawlat-Dumoulin design that came out in PM cashmere 7 years later.  Most colorways aren't as naturally-colored as this.  The design means nothing to me but the colors are divine.

Persona was issued in 1997, with the Loic Dubigeon design re-issued twice since.  I normally don't care for faces in my scarves and these masks kind of scare me, but I love the color and got it at a sale in Toronto.

Brides de Gala originally came out in 1957.  The Hugo Grygkar classic has been reissued in just about every fabric and has gotten some nouveau treatments, including this repeating version from the mid-aughts.

Robert Dallet is known for his African animal designs, and this Kenya from 1988 goes beautifully with mustard shirts.

Sur un Tapis Volant (Flying Carpet) came out in 2006.  The Annie Faivre design was reissued two years later in PM and GM cashmere.  This mouth-watering colorway was a souvenir from a scarf collector get-together in Las Vegas in 2008.

MOUSSELINES

Living in the South means hot, sticky summers.  It's hard to wear silk twill, and while cashmere helps ward off air conditioning sometimes all I want is the ethereal featherweight of a mousseline (chiffon).  Hermes no longer produces PMs, but continues to make GMs and stoles.

Cheval Fleuri (Floral Horse) is one of Hermes' more classic designs, originally produced in 1962.  The Henri d'Origny pattern - which makes me think of Lady Godiva - was reissued in twill for Neiman Marcus' 100th anniversary. The PM Mousseline (the white one) came out in 2005; I picked up the GM at the NYC sale in 2007.

Grafisme stoles are iridescent gradients from 2007.  No clue who the artist is.

Cavalcadour, like Cheval Fleuri, is a classic Henri d'Origny design from the early 1960s that has been reissued many times.

Vol Amoureux des Azures (Flight of the Special Blue Lovers?) is a 2007 Toutsy creation featuring butterflies and what may be cherry blossoms.  Issued in silk twill as well as PM mousseline.  Love the contrasting hem!

POO!  Otherwise known as Pierres d'Orient et d'Occident (Eastern and Western stones), this Zoe Pauwels 1988 design has been reissued a couple of times in twill and GMCS.  This is an extinct PM.

Au Coeur de la Vie (The Heart of Life) was originally issued in 2007.  The Aline Honore design was reissued in PM mousseline and in 70cm.

Les Pivoines (Peonies) was originally issued in 1978, then reissued several times without the basketweave background a couple of times.  I had no idea it came in a PM mouss in 2006, but thanks to an online consignment shop I'm a lucky girl!

Brides Rebelles came to me by way of a selfless collector who found the last one in the US.  This 2010 Benoit Pierre Emery design also came in twill without the multicolor background.

Treve de l'Eau (The Watering Hole) is a 2005 Robert Dallet creation.  This late artist is known for his realistic depictions of animals, particularly African critters.  Can't recall when this came out in GM mouss.

De Tout Coeur (Wholeheartedly), from Zoe Pauwels, came out in 2007.  This is so lovely with a pink shirt.

Quintessence, another Zoe Pauwels design, celebrates music.  This 2010 mousseline is a shimmery changeant.

GM CASHMERES

Vie du Gran Norde (Life in the Great North), an Aline Honore design from 2004, was my first GMCS.

Brazil is a 1988 Toutsy design that's been re-issued in detail format (blowing out one section of the original design), and in mousseline and GMCS.

How well does my mother know me?  This was a birthday gift - Charmante aux Animaux (Animal Charmer), a 2010 Annie Faivre design.  Love the color, love the theme, love the contrasting hem!

Another Annie Faivre that makes me swoon is Au Fil du Carre (Google translate says this means 'over square' but something's getting lost there).  This was a 2011 issue, and even though I already had pink in the GMCS collection I couldn't resist the black horses.

Collection Equestre is a Benoit Pierre Emery design from 2010.  Unusual for me to go for just a two-color shawl but it's soooo gorgeous.

And even though navy was already in the collection of GMCS, I saw someone at the Charlotte boutique wearing this Geometrie Cretoise (Cretan Geometry - I must have a thing for that region) and HAD to have this Julia Abadie 2012 shawl.

At one point I had two colorways of Kantha, but let one go in favor of this neutral which goes with all things earth tone.

One of my more recent acquisitions is Pique Fleuri de Provence (Flowery Picnic in Provence), a 2013 Christine Henry design.

One of my biggest regrets is passing up a Forces de la Vie (another Christine Henry) PMCS in orange/blue at the Dallas boutique.  I've been looking for it ever since, but have only found this GM.

WHITE SCARVES

Carre Kantha is an unsigned 2008 creation, celebrating a Bangladeshi embroidery style.

Reve de Corail (Coral Dream) is a 2011 Annie Faivre design.

Carre Kantha is from 2008's Year of India, and celebrates a traditional Bangladeshi embroidery technique.

PURPLE SCARVES

I fell in love with Turkey last year, and was thrilled to find Ceramique Ottomane (Toutsy, 2002) to remind me of the gorgeous ceramics.

Toutsy also designed Aloha (2000).

Cyrille Diatkine created Kelly en Caleche (Kelly bags in a Carriage) in 2007. This is silk jersey which drapes a bit better now that I've dropped some lbs.

Vie de Fleuve (River Life) is an Aline Honore from 2005 when I started collecting with a vengeance!  It's one of the first scarves I bought.

CHIENS AU RAPPORT - Carl de Parcevaux, 1987

I typically don't care for dead things on my scarves, but after my dear cocker spaniel Ladybug devoured a bunny this seemed appropriate.

FRAMED SCARVES

I love the idea of Hermes scarves as art suitable for framing and hanging on the wall.  I've got a couple of classic designs simply because they were already (cheaply) framed and reasonably priced.  They look better against a darker wall, but they *are* wonderful nonetheless.

Livree Imperiale is a 1975 design from Philippe Ledoux.

Chasse a Courre, by Hugo Grygkar, was one of the first scarves produced by Hermes in 1937.  It was reissued in the 60s.

BLACK SCARVES

Qalamdan refers to ornate Persian pencil boxes, but this looks like stained glass windows to me.  This Catherine Baschet design from 1991 has been reissued a couple of times and appears in PM and GM cashmere.

Gloire d'Alexandre, a 2005 Julia Abadie creation, shows off the Macedonian conqueror's holdings in Greece and Egypt.

Au Coeur de la Vie - The Heart of Life.  It's a nucleus!  Aline Honore created this in 2007.
